 Suggested Layouts for introducing full connectivity at Junction 5.

Below is a fairly recent Highways Agency plan drawn up when the M25 widening was still a live scheme. The most significant aspect of this plan is that it uses the existing route under the Chevening road, and thus minimises impact on the villages. The land take is very much lower than past schemes, a very elegant solution

Below is a now much discredited scheme "sneaked" out in the mid 90s. At that time Junction 5 Slips were being used by anti bypass groups as a reason not to build the Borough Green Bypass. As a result Bypass campaigners had this plan drawn up, and exaggerated the negative impacts such as slicing Chevening in half. It was designed to whip up outrage in that area, and unfortunately for us was an extremely successful ploy, for which we are all still suffering today.
